Privacy Policy

TalentEcho ("TalentEcho," "we," "us") is an iOS app that helps college soccer coaches scout, evaluate, and manage prospective players. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. TalentEcho is operated by Luke Madden, an individual based in Denver, Colorado. 1. Who this applies to

TalentEcho is intended for use by coaches and recruiting staff who are 18 or older. It is not directed to children, and children may not create an account. However, the app lets coaches record information about prospective student-athletes, some of whom may be minors. Please read the Information about minors section below.

2. Information we collect

Account information

• Your email address, used to sign you in with a one-time code.
• Your coaching profile and preferences that you provide during setup — for example your program/school, division, whether you coach a men's or women's team, the positions and graduation years you recruit, and your evaluation rubric.

Recruit information you add

You may add information about players, including names, graduation year, position, club or league, jersey number, GPA, region, your ratings, and notes you record. You can add this in four ways, each handled as follows:

• Manually — you type it in.
• Team-sheet photo — the photo is read on your device; only the extracted text is sent to our AI provider to structure it into a roster. The photo itself is never uploaded or stored by us.
• Voice dictation — audio is recorded and transcribed on your device. The audio never leaves your device; only the resulting text and notes are saved to your account.
• Forwarded or BCC'd email — we process only the emails your forwarding rule or BCC sends to your unique TalentEcho address. We never connect to or read your inbox. We keep only a short snippet and a reference (the provider's message ID and a link back to the original in your own inbox) — not the full email body.

Subscription information

• Purchases are processed by Apple; we do not receive your full payment details. RevenueCat provides us your subscription status (active, trialing, expired), and we store that status to manage access.

Technical information

• Basic information necessary to operate the app (such as authentication tokens and, where applicable, error information). We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

3. AI processing (third-party sharing)

To provide core features, we share certain text you provide with a third party, Anthropic, PBC (the "Claude" AI service). We collect this text directly from you in the app, and it is sent to Anthropic to return the feature's result. What is sent: text extracted on your device from a team-sheet photo, text from recruit emails you forward, your dictation transcripts (for cleanup and tagging), the club/team names you enter (for league/region suggestions), and the messages you send to the in-app assistant. This text may include recruit information.

We ask for your explicit permission in the app before any data is sent to Anthropic, and you must agree to use the AI features.

Anthropic processes this data solely to provide these features and, under its commercial API terms, does not use it to train its models. Anthropic is contractually required to protect this data with safeguards equivalent to those described in this policy. We do not send your team-sheet photos or dictation audio to Anthropic or any AI provider — those are processed on your device, and only the resulting text is shared.

4. How we use information

• To provide, operate, and improve the app's features (scanning, dictation, scoring/ranking, and the assistant).
• To authenticate you and secure your account.
• To manage your subscription and access.
• To respond to your requests and provide support.
• To comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

5. Service providers we share with

We share information only with vendors who process it on our behalf to run the service:

• Apple — in-app purchases and payment processing.
• RevenueCat — subscription management and status.
• Anthropic — AI text processing (see Section 3).
• Supabase — database, authentication, and hosting.
• Resend — routing of the recruit emails you forward to your TalentEcho address.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a business transfer.

6. Data storage, security, and retention

• Your data is stored with Supabase and is isolated per coach using database row-level security, so one coach cannot access another's data. Data is encrypted in transit.
• We retain your account and recruit data while your account is active. As noted above, we do not retain full email bodies or team-sheet photos.
• Deleted items are soft-deleted (recoverable for a limited period) and then purged.
• No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your rights and choices

You may access, correct, or delete your information, and you may delete your account, from within the app or by emailing lukemadden1313@gmail.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights:

• Colorado residents (Colorado Privacy Act) and California residents (CCPA/CPRA), among others, may have rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of personal data, and to opt out of sale or targeted advertising. We do not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising.

To exercise any right, email us; we will verify and respond as required by applicable law. You may also request deletion of a specific player's information (see below).

8. Information about minors

TalentEcho is for adult coaches and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to create an account. However, prospective players that a coach records may be minors.

• The coach is responsible for having a legitimate recruiting purpose and an appropriate basis for recording information about a prospective player, and for complying with laws that protect minors and students.
• We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 directly, and we do not use recruit information for advertising or profiling unrelated to a coach's recruiting.
• If you are a parent or guardian and believe information about your child has been recorded in TalentEcho and should be removed, contact lukemadden1313@gmail.com and we will work to address the request.

9. Information about people who are not our users

Much of the recruit information in TalentEcho is about people who are not TalentEcho users. The coach who enters that information is responsible for their use of it, as described in our Terms of Service. If you believe your information appears in TalentEcho and you would like it addressed, contact us at the email above.

10. Location of processing

TalentEcho is operated from the United States, and information is processed and stored in the United States.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice where appropriate.
